Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Variants from Prime, Premium to Premium Plus: Which Variant Should You Choose?

Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime vs Premium vs Premium Plus comparison

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is Proton’s dual-powered EV, combining an electric motor with a petrol engine to deliver a combined driving range of up to 1,065 km.

It shares a similar design with the e.MAS 7 EV, but is more suitable for drivers who travel longer distances or want more flexibility without depending fully on charging.

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is available in three variants: Prime, Premium and Premium Plus.

Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime comes with around 105 km of EV driving range and around 895 km of fuel-assisted driving range.

Its basic modern features are already enough for normal daily use, but some of the more advanced convenience features are more limited. The ADAS system is also included, but it is not as complete as the higher variants.

In simple terms, it is a bit like the X50 Executive. The space, performance and overall driving experience are already there, but some premium convenience features and the full ADAS package are still missing.

Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Premium

The main upgrades in the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Premium are the convenience features and ADAS system.

This is where the overall equipment becomes much more complete. The sound system is upgraded from 6 speakers to a 16-speaker Flyme Sound System, together with more premium convenience features and a more complete driving assistance package.

In simple terms, the Premium offers a more complete technology, comfort and safety experience compared with the Prime.

Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Premium Plus

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Premium Plus mainly adds a few noticeable upgrades on top of the Premium.

The biggest difference is the EV driving range, which increases to 170 km, bringing the total combined driving range up to 1,065 km. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof.

If you think the longer EV range and sunroof are worth the extra cost, then the Premium Plus is the better choice. Otherwise, the Premium is already a very complete variant.

Conclusion

The Prime is suitable if you mainly want the space, performance and PHEV system at a lower price.

The Premium is the variant I would recommend for most buyers because the convenience features and ADAS package are much more complete.

Choose the Premium Plus if the 170 km EV range and panoramic sunroof are important to you. Otherwise, the Premium already gives you a very complete PHEV experience.
