Proton Saga Standard vs Executive vs Premium: Which Variant Should You Choose?

Proton Saga Standard vs Executive vs Premium comparison

The All-New Proton Saga, also known as the Proton Saga MC3, was launched in Malaysia in November 2025. The 2026 Proton Saga comes in three variants: Standard, Executive and Premium.

So, what are the differences, and which Proton Saga variant should you choose? Here is a simple and practical comparison.

Proton Saga Standard

The Proton Saga Standard is a very basic car.

It does not come with a reverse camera or parking sensors, and its safety features are quite limited. It does come with a push-start button and some basic modern features, but it still feels like a simple entry-level car.

In simple terms, the Standard is for buyers who only need basic daily transport.

Proton Saga Executive

The main upgrade in the Proton Saga Executive is its convenience and technology features.

It adds features such as Reminder Before Leaving Vehicle, a luggage lamp, wireless Apple CarPlay and other useful upgrades. It no longer feels like a very basic car and looks more modern overall.

However, its safety features are still quite limited and remain similar to the Standard variant.

Proton Saga Premium

The most obvious upgrades in the Proton Saga Premium are the safety system and transmission.

It comes with the ADAS package, while the number of airbags increases from two to six. The transmission is also upgraded from the 4-speed automatic used in the Standard and Executive to a CVT.

In simple terms, the Premium is for buyers who want better safety and a more complete driving experience.

Conclusion

For long-term use, I usually recommend the Proton Saga Premium because its safety features are more complete. This becomes more valuable if you plan to keep the car for several years or use it for family driving.

The Standard is suitable if your main priority is the lowest price. The Executive is better if you want a more modern and convenient car without paying for the Premium.
